In ever-changing environments as they are envisioned in Pervasive
Computing, applications have to adapt to changes in their execution
environment. Reselection of services is a common technique for
stateless services. This paper presents an approach that allows
reselection of stateful services by combining checkpointing
techniques and client-side request histories. An implementation that
allows transparent service reselection is outlined and parameters
for the automatic creation of checkpoints are discussed.
